Practising at the chamber

We take on advocates who write well, read the whole file, and are willing to be told when they are wrong.

Life at the chamber

The chamber is small and the work is close. Juniors read the whole file, draft the first version of everything, and attend court from the first week. Drafts are marked up in detail and returned — that is how the standard is taught here.

Advocates take responsibility for their own matters earlier than in larger firms, with supervision available at every stage. We expect punctuality with the court and candour with the client, in that order of difficulty.
